Hi there! I'm currently building out more detailed studies for the projects listed below.
In the meantime, you can download a pdf with more info here.
Treat Yo Future Self: designing a Retirement APp for millennials
UX ResearcH | UX Design
During my work towards a graduate certificate in User-Centered Design, I was part of a 3-person team that explored whether a retirement app using gamification could be a viable approach to help working Millennials improve low 401(k) participation rates. We applied the user-centered design process and leaned on the findings of our research to design a mobile app called Treat Yo Future Self.
Treat Yo Future Self introduces the user to his or her “future self” using a chat UI and AI in order to help make saving for retirement a bit more personal, attainable, and emotionally-immediate.

inventory tracking system: developing a better internal tool
ux research | UX Design
At Kineta, thousands of business-critical frozen samples were being logged in a large Word document (over 45 pages) that lacked an easy or controlled way to add, search, or remove samples.
Based on insights from user research, I designed and built a dynamic and flexible inventory tracking system that significantly improved the user experience while greatly reducing impact on temperature-sensitive materials.

Weeknight Society: evaluating a recipe App
UX design consultation | User research
I provided volunteer UX assistance during the development of the Weeknight Society app, including UX design consultation and user research. Prior to the app's beta release, I directed and conducted usability testing as well. Test scenarios were designed to not only answer Weeknight Society's own research questions, but also to provide a strategic initial benchmark of the app that covered all features including planning, shopping, and cooking.
While benchmarking was not on the client's radar, I knew it would be invaluable to have an established baseline to measure future app designs against.
Findings were synthesized, prioritized by severity, and summarized in a high-level document along with actionable recommendations.

skype for business: testing an enterprise mobile APp
usability testing
During my work towards a graduate certificate in User-Centered Design, I was part of a 3-person team that planned and conducted a lab-based usability test of Skype for Business that evaluated all features of the Android app including IM, voice calls, video call, and meetings.
I proactively created a note and scorekeeping tool in Excel that reduced cognitive load for the researcher during usability sessions that required real-time texting with participants. The tool also helped increase the speed of data synthesis and analysis.
Findings were given severity ratings and recommendations, summarized in a deck along with an executive scorecard and video highlights, and presented to the Skype for Business team.
